Thank God It's Sunday... The two T.G.I.S. services exist to provide an authentic alternative for those who do not readily connect with the more "traditional" approaches to worship. We emphasize "Spirit and truth," the two non-negotiables for all real worship, according to Jesus. To get an idea of the teaching you will hear at either of the T.G.I.S. services, check out Brad's sermons here.

Who Are We? Thank God It's Sunday is an alternative worship experience which happens every Sunday at Dauphin Way UMC in McGowin Hall. Currently the two services occur at 9:15 A.M. and 10:30 A.M.
Why Are We Here? We are here for you especially if you are looking for an informal, come-as-you-are approach and are not as comfortable with formal, liturgical worship or even if you have no meaningful contact with church at all. For more information call 471.1511 or use our Contact Us form
More About Our Services: We dress casually and sit at tables for the worship experience. Trey Hill leads our praise band using songs designed to focus our attention on giving sincere thanks to God. This is followed by an informal celebration of the Lord's Supper every Sunday at the table, and then a five minute break for fellowship. Brad McClain, associate pastor at Dauphin Way, then shares a biblically-based message on practical, day-to-day Christian discipleship, and there is always a time of prayer before the service ends. This simple format seems to be working well, especially for people who are attending a Christian worship service for the first time, or returning after dropping out of church for awhile. Our mission is to always think about the newest person there, particularly those who are uncertain about their personal relationship to Jesus Christ. Our first goal is to introduce them to the wonderful new life Jesus offers every single one of us, and help them begin, by His grace. Our second goal is to challenge and encourage every disciple of Jesus who is there to take their very next personal step of faith, whatever that happens to be. For this reason, people from many different denominational backgrounds find their way to us. We believe this is because the overwhelming emphasis is nothing but making disciples of Jesus Christ, and on becoming a proactive part of the Church He is building!
